Turn your change into action
Change into Action
Change into Action is an alternative giving scheme in six of the local authority areas the West Midlands. It offers a safe and simple way to donate money to fund practical support for people who are sleeping rough or have recently moved off the streets. The scheme is managed locally and brings together trusted partners, including homelessness charities and street outreach teams. Donations are used where they can make a real difference, helping people move away from rough sleeping and towards safety and stability.
Small Change for a Big Change.
Alternative Giving CIO - Wolverhampton
Alternative Giving CIO (Charity No. 1186415) brings local people, businesses and charities together to support people who are sleeping rough in Wolverhampton. It raises funds for practical, immediate help such as food, essentials, outreach support and routes off the street, and directs that support to trusted local organisations working directly with people on the streets. By donating through this route, you are helping people move away from rough sleeping and towards safety, stability and longer-term support, in the Wolverhampton local authority area.
Designing out homelessness in the West Midlands
WMCA Homelessness Taskforce
In 2017, the first Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, established the WMCA Homelessness Taskforce to bring together organisations, people and resources to tackle homelessness across the region, working in partnership with the seven local authorities. Since then, the Taskforce has led work ranging from Housing First to research on families in temporary accommodation, with a shared focus on designing out homelessness by designing in prevention, so it becomes rare, brief and non-recurring.
