WAITS [Women Acting in Todays Society]

Supporting all women experiencing domestic abuse
Support for women experiencing domestic abuse, with a focus on women from Black, Asian, Chinese and Minority Communities.

WAITS helps women to stay safe, rebuild confidence and live independently after abuse. Support is ongoing and based on each woman’s needs. Services include one-to-one emotional and practical help, housing and benefits advice, and access to specialist domestic abuse and community projects.

They also run:
  • Domestic Abuse Service – for women currently or previously experiencing abuse.
  • Community Integration Project – for women 18 + at risk of offending or reoffending.
  • Women’s Refuge – safe accommodation for women 20 + fleeing domestic abuse or facing homelessness.

Advice Services

WAITS Domestic Abuse Service
WAITS provides one‑to‑one support for any woman who has experienced or is experiencing domestic abuse. You will be assigned a support worker and a personalised support plan. We also help with advocacy, coordinating with other agencies, and workshops. If the service isn’t right for you, we will sign‑post you to a more suitable organisation

Community Integration Project
WAITS offers one‑to‑one support for women with offending or re‑offending histories and multiple complex needs (such as domestic abuse, substance use). You’ll receive a dedicated support worker, help with a personalised plan, advocacy, and co‑ordination of all your agencies. Support is open‑ended until you’re ready to move on.
