St Basils is a charity and housing association that works with young people aged 16-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to enable them to find and keep a home, grow their confidence, develop their skills, increase opportunities and prevent homelessness

Health Services

St Basils offers family mediation to help young people stay at home where it is safe to do so. The focus is on improving communication, not taking sides. Staff may refer young people to mediation services in some areas. St Basils also runs projects that use psychological approaches to support parents and strengthen family relationships.

St Basils’ Live and Work Scheme in Sandwell offers low-cost, supportive housing for young people aged 18–25 who are working, in an apprenticeship, or have a confirmed offer of work. Residents can stay for up to two years or until the day before their 26th birthday, with a minimum tenancy of 9 months. The scheme includes 86 properties at Hallam Close, designed for young people to manage their tenancies independently, with guidance available from friendly on-site staff. Rent is kept low to help residents cover expenses without relying on benefits.
