Centrepoint - Greater Manchester

Registered CharityBig Change
Homelessness charity for 18-25 year olds.
Centrepoint’s homelessness prevention team works with young people aged 18-25 who need help with housing and in other areas of their lives to ensure that they are healthy, independent, and have a real future.

We support young people who are sleeping rough, staying with friends, or about to be evicted and have nowhere to go. We help young people get independent tenancies, and teach them the skills they need to keep them.

We additionally support young people with other problems such as drugs or alcohol, a history of offending or mental health issues.

We are the first step for help for young people in Manchester. If you, or a young person you know don’t know where to turn. You can call us, email us or come and see us in person and we will talk to you about your situation and help you to resolve it. If you are in immediate need of somewhere to stay we can help to find temporary accommodation with a hostel or housing provider.

It is not okay if someone is being violent, abusive or threatening to you – even if that’s your partner or a family member. It is wrong and it is domestic abuse. This means that you should be considered a priority for support with housing from your local council. You have rights so you can get away from this situation and find somewhere safe to live. If you are in immediate danger, please call 999.

If you want to get help because you are experiencing domestic abuse, call the Centrepoint Helpline on 0808 800 0661, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Our dedicated Helpline advisors are also available to chat online via our website Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm.
